About Us

The Brothers and Sisters of Reconciliation follow a modern, penitential Rule.

We emphasize Penance (Reconciliation) and Evangelization (Preaching) based on the life and Rule of St. Francis of Assisi with Saint Dominic and Saint Francis as our patrons. We share their love and devotion to Mary Queen of Heaven, and Her Immaculate Heart. The culmination of Franciscan and Dominican ideals forms the basis of the common brotherhood in the spirit and charism of our Order. Therefore, we endeavor to live the evangelical life of the Gospels of Jesus Christ as proscribed by our patrons and fraternal fathers, St. Francis and St. Dominic. Likewise, we strive to live the Virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity, and faithfully propagate the Catholic faith.

Our Order is a non-residential Secular and residential Religious Order, which means that some of our members do not live in a monastery, friary or convent. Most of our Brothers and Sisters perform their own individual ministries within their own parishes and hometown communities around the world. We have a small and growing number of Brothers who do live in community when assigned to the same areas. These Brothers are "full time" Friars and teach, evangelize or other wise work at the direction of the Superior General and Superior.

The Brothers and Sisters of Reconciliation seek to be faithful to the prayer of Jesus in John 17~ that, "they may all be one." We seek to live a full Franciscan and Dominican spirituality, to love and serve God; to seek and share the truth of the Gospel; to build toward a World of Peace; and to provide spiritual and social services to a hurting and troubled world.
